Michelle Emeric-Shmuel

Michelle Shmuel is currently the Music Chairperson at W.T. Clarke Middle and High Schools in East Meadow. For the 12 years prior to her appointment in East Meadow, she was the music department coordinator and choral director at Hicksville High School where her choirs received National recognition and gold with distinction ratings at local adjudication festivals. Active in professional organizations, Michelle serves as an adjudicator for the NYSSMA solo festival and as past membership chair for the NY and Eastern Divisions of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). Currently she is the acting NYSSMA State Choral Chair with an official appointment pending in December.

Michelle has received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education and Master of Arts degree from Hofstra University. She has also studied opera performance at SUNY Fredonia and vocal pedagogy at Westminster Choir College. Most recently she earned her School Administrator license through Stony Brook University.
