Auditions
Auditions are currently closed
Thank you to everyone who auditioned!
If you're interested in auditioning in the future, keep an eye out on this page, or subscribe to our mailing list (in the footer, below) to be sure you're among the first to hear. In the meantime, here are some details as you prepare for our next audition round:
What to expect at your audition
- Sing a prepared song that best showcases your musicianship, vocal technique, and interpretive abilities (please bring sheet music for pianist)
- Echo back a series of melodic contours to ascertain how you hear and process intervals
- Vocalize to further clarify your range & most comfortable tessitura
Notes:
- There is no audition fee
- If you are invited to join our roster, please note that eVoco members pay yearly membership dues
- Members set their availability to sing in projects as they are available. (Members do not need to make themselves available to sing in all projects in a season to participate—but are welcome to do so if they are able!).
Audition and Rehearsal Location
All auditions and rehearsals take place on the beautiful Hofstra University Campus. And all our rehearsals are open—you're free to observe anytime!
Auditions take place at Shapiro Family Hall, Hofstra University room 108 (David Fryling's Office).
Rehearsals take place in Shapiro Family Hall 010 Rehearsal Hall (basement Large Ensemble Rehearsal Room).
Parking is plenteous and free on Sunday nights (you can ignore the business day restrictions!).
