Jim Brosnan

Jim Brosnan is the choral director and music theory instructor at Smithtown High School West. He currently directs the school’s choirs; serves as the stage, vocal, and technical director of the annual school musical; teaches introductory music theory, AP Music Theory, and Advanced Music Theory, and advises the school’s stage crew. Jim has been a guest conductor for district- and county-level honors choirs, presented at state-level conferences on topics such as building middle school choir programs and practical advice for new teachers, and chaired multiple county-level honors ensembles. He has performed locally, regionally, and internationally as a vocalist, bassist, and trombonist, and holds degrees in Information Technology and Music Education.
